Decorative gifts for the home, inspired by The Met collection.
William Bell Scott’s (British, 1811–1890) Two hares (1865–90), a whimsical work on paper in The Met’s Drawings and Prints collection, once decorated Penkill Castle in Scotland. It belonged to a series of 27 illustrations of birds, animals, reptiles, and insects, which were dispersed when the castle was sold in 1992.
This artful vide poche was crafted exclusively for The Met by New York City–based designer John Derian, who’s celebrated for his unique decoupage decorations on hand-blown glass plates, trays, bowls, and more.
