Art jewelry inspired by The Met collection.
This artful necklace reimagines a vivid scarab ring (ca. 1887–1813 B.C.) that once belonged to the Egyptian princess Sithathoryunet. The scarab beetle, a symbol of the sun god Re, became a popular amulet type during the Middle Kingdom (ca. 2030–1650 B.C.) when the princess’s ring was made. We’ve honored its bold coloring with opaque, hand-applied enamel.
