Metropolitan Museum of Art Christmas ornaments.
This quaint metal ornament with a festive red ribbon for hanging celebrates the cheer and charm of the holiday season at The Met. Enveloped in a Christmas wreath is the Museum’s iconic facade, one of the architectural glories of New York City. Since the building opened to the public in 1880, the Museum has undertaken several major programs of expansion and remodeling. The original building has been greatly enlarged, and various additions now completely surround the original structure, which is set back in Central Park. Today, The Met’s Beaux-Arts entryway serves as one of Manhattan’s most beloved landmarks.
